Wolves Race in Cougar Classic

Colfax, Wash. – The Walla Walla women's and men's cross country teams continued history again this past weekend, racing in their first ever Cougar Classic, which was put on by host D-1 school, Washington State University. The men placed 9th with a score of 256 and the women received a score of 253, landing them an 8th place finish.

The Wolves competed with many top programs and individual racers from schools like Gonzaga University, Pepperdine University, and Washington State University, who all produce top quality NCAA teams.

Alexa Johnson and Julia Fowler lead the Lady Wolves, running their 6K times at 24:22 and 24:40, respectively, which resulted in top-50 finishes for both runners. Kandice Gage missed a top-50 finish by two spots, finishing with a time of 26:28.

On the men's side, the Glubay brothers once again led the Wolves, as Spencer Glubay picked up another top-50 finish, running the 8K in 26:34. Brother Austin Glubay barely missed a top-50 finish, placing 54th with a time of 28:12.

The Wolves will look at continuing history during their inaugural season. Up next, the Wolves will run in the Montana Invitational on Friday, September 28 in Missoula, Mont.
