Sports Medicine Philosophy
The Walla Walla University Sports Medicine staff are committed to the health, safety, and overall well-being of intercollegiate student-athletes. In alignment with the mission of the University, we serve student-athletes with professionalism, integrity, and care, while supporting their physical, personal, spiritual and academic development.
Our sports medicine staff strives to provide a safe and supportive athletic environment that prioritizes long-term health, and provides the following services:
- Injury prevention strategies
- Clinical evaluation, management, diagnosis, and referral of athletic injuries
- Therapeutic treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning
- Health and wellness education
- Coordination with a network of local health care providers for continuation of care
- Emergency response and maintenance of the emergency action plan

Visiting Team Information
- The Athletic Training room (ATR) is located in the Winter Education Complex on the Southwest side of the building.
- The ATR will be available for visiting teams 2 hours prior to conference competitions until 30 minutes after the event, unless other arrangements are made.
- For competitions that occur on Saturday night, the ATR will open 2 hours prior to the event or after Sundown, whichever time is later.
- Modalities available in ATR: Hydrocollator, Ice machine, Ultrasound, Electrical Muscle Stimulation, Game Ready.
- Please send written instructions for athletes needing specific taping or treatment.
- Modalities will only be provided if prior arrangements have been made between your school's Athletic Trainer and ours.
- We will provide any required tape techniques, but we ask that you bring your own supplies.
- Ice, water, cups, and bench towels, will be provided to each bench/sideline.
