Wolves Fight the Rain With Missionaries

10/29/2015 6:07:00 PM

Box Score The first period proved very eventful despite the rain, as the first and only goal, scored by Whitman College's (3-10-2, 2-7-2) Park Harmon slipped through Walla Walla University's (0-13, 0-13) Josh Fry's hands within the first few minutes of the game. Harmon was assisted by Missionary Gabe Jacobsen. After that though, the Wolves keeper was able to make 10 saves. The Wolves were only able to make two shots, one by #10 Moses Arevalo, and the other by #20 Martin Chinn. Within the first period, the Missionaries took 25 shots, the majority taken by Ben Freedman and Gabe Jacobsen.

The second period brought on a downpour that seemed to douse the player's energy. Only two corner kicks were taken by the Wolves, and eight by the Missionaries. All in all, there was a successful crowd turn out, cheering in the rain for the drenched athletes.

Notable stats for the Wolves: Moses Arevalo and Martin Chinn each had one shot, Josh Fry had ten saves, Neal White received a yellow card and Brook Fesler received a red card at the 73:28 mark.

Whitman College was led by Nathanael Fleming and Gabe Jacobsen with seven and six shots while Jacob Fritz received a yellow card.

The Wolves are back in action at home this weekend on Friday afternoon at 3:00pm vs Carroll College then on Saturday night for their final game of the year at 7:00pm vs Great Falls.
