Wolves Unable to Hold off Knights

Portland, Ore. – Walla Walla (2-9, 0-4) falls 53-78 to Warner Pacific College (3-11, 1-3) tonight in Portland, Ore.  The Wolves kept things close in the first half, but the Knights took advantage of a big third quarter to build a lead over Walla Walla.

Game Notes:
  • The Wolves were down 27-29 heading into half time
  • The Knights opened the third quarter with a 16-2 run
  • Alyssa Blankenship lead the Wolves in scoring (16) and rebounds (8)
  • Sierra Briggs, Emily Downs, and Alyssa Blankenship all finished with 3 assists
  • Kyeli Hendryx lead WPC in scoring with 20 points
  • Michaela Pin had 9 points and 13 rebounds for the Knights
  • The Wolves made 18 free-throws, 6 above their season average
How it Happened

The Wolves started strong, getting to the free-throw line and forcing the Knights to shoot 12 of 41 on field goals in the first half.  But things flipped in the second half after a 16-2 run in the third quarter that gave the Knights a big lead the rest of the game.  The Wolves could not find their stroke in the second half, making only one three-point field goal, and shooting 3-16 in the fourth quarter.

The Lady Wolves are off for the next two weeks.  They will be back in action on December 30th against Northwest Christian University.
