The Owls sweep the Wolves

Oregon Tech came out hot and took down the Wolves in three straight sets.  A balance attack by from the Owls hurt the Wolves, as six players recorded multiple kills on the night, and they combined for over 14 assisted blocks.  Samantha Szachara finished with four kills on eight attempts and 4 block assists on the night. 

The Owls jumped out to a 16-9 lead early in the first set before a Melissa Barton Kill put the Wolves at 10 points.  A bit of back and forth scoring followed, but after climbing back into the match at a score of 19-16, the Wolves failed to score the rest of the match once Waverly Green took over at serve.  She would record an ace and Walla Walla was unable to get the ball in play on the attack as the dropped the set 25-16.

Over the next two sets, Walla Walla fought hard early, but the Owls always seemed to have the answer late in the match and assert dominance too take the victory.  The Wolves lost sets two and three by the same score, 25-13.  Maria Darling lead the Wolves in kills on the night with 7, Lauren Barlow was all over the court with four kills, 20 digs and three block assists on the night. 

Wolves finish up their road trip tomorrow night, with a trip to Southern Oregon University.  Game time is 8 p.m.
