College Place, Wash.- After starting off at home the first two weekends of the season, the Wolves soccer team heads out of College Place to the Seattle area for a couple of Cascade Conference games.  Volleyball is at home this weekend, and looking forward to the first weekend with all students back on campus.  The Wolves are still on the hunt for conference wins, both teams are looking to build on the encouraging signs they have been showing over the last couple of weeks

Northwest University (5-3, 2-1) men's soccer team is currently in a tie with for fourth place in the Cascade Conference and they host the Wolves Friday afternoon.  The Wolves will need to watch out for Jordan Travis, who was four goals on the year, including two game winners this year.  Elijah Gordon is leading the team with four assists, and his teammate Jose Valentine is just behind him with three.

The Evergreen State College (2-0-2, 1-0-2)  host Walla Walla on Sunday, and the Wolves can expect some stingy defense from the Geoducks.  Evergreen's last three games have all gone to overtime, and they have resulted in two ties and a win in their last match over Northwest.  Charlie Kramer and Jordan Zimmerman have each score two goals on the season.  The Wolves goalkeeper, Josh Fry is leading the conference in saves per game with 15 per game.  The Wolves defense has steadily been improving, and this weekend they will be looking for more opportunities on offense.

This weekend the volleyball team takes on the same schools as soccer.  Northwest University (9-4, 6-2) comes to town Saturday night, and they bring with them their excellent serving skills and defense to the match.   Mattie Jo Johnson brings her 31% hitting average to town, which is good for fifth in the conference.  Saturday night will also be the first theme night of the year, as the Wolves are putting on a black out night.

The Geoducks of Evergreen State College (3-11, 2-6) vist Walla Walla on Sunday night.  The Geoducks snapped a six-match losing streak with a comeback win over Northwest Christian on Saturday night.  The Wolves are just two spots back of Evergreen in the standings.  Walla Walla will need to locate Jorden Porter who has amassed 144 kills on the season so far.  Kylie Kytan has 502 assists on the season, and averaging almost 10 per set.

MAKE SURE YOU WEAR BLACK TO SATURDAY'S (8:00p.m.) MATCH AGAINST NORTHWEST UNIVERSITY!
