Men's Soccer: Wolves Lose to #12 Rocky Mountain College

Billings, Montana. –The Wolves made the long journey to Billings, Montana today to play the #12 ranked Rocky Mountain College Battlin' Bears (7-1, 3-1) on Friday Afternoon.  Walla Walla (0-7, 0-6) had a tough time keeping the Bears under control and lost the match 12-0. 

 

In the 11th minute, Chasen Lashure put a ball in from 12 yards out for the first goal of the match.  A few minutes later Matthew Thomas took advantage of a 1v1 with keeper David Mizher to score Rocky Mountain's second goal.  The Battlin' Bears would score six total goals in the first half.  Despite giving up goals throughout the match, Walla Walla's keepers David Mizher and Kohl Tomcho did combine for 16 saves.  The Wolves had a tough time getting shots on goal, as the highly ranked Bears had their defense locked in.

 

In the 66th minute, Emmet Semple put up a shot on goal for the Wolves that keeper Kristofer Wennin snatched up.  A few minutes after that Bilechi Sumali finished a cross from Emmit Zavitz to put Rocky Mountain up eight goals.  The Bears would put in four more and went on to win the match 12-0.

Walla Walla is back on the pitch Sunday in Caldwell, Idaho to take on the College of Idaho.  The match is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
