Women's Basketball Loses a Second Time to the Yotes

College Place, WASH. Walla Walla faced the Yotes this evening, and lost 40-60. A low scoring game and tough battle for the Wolves.
 
Within the first few minutes of the first quarter the College of Idaho had a 5-0 jump on the Wolves. With 3:45 left in the quarter the lead had grown to 13-5, and back to back three-pointers by Madison Holly gave the Yotes a 23-8 lead.
 
With 7 minutes left in the second quarter Montes had back to back layups for the Wolves, 12-25. Raegan Williams had a jumper with three minutes left bringing it to a 9 point deficit for Walla Walla, 17-26. With two minutes left Sophia Jackson had a three-pointer for the College of Idaho, and the Yotes went into the half up 19-32.

A layup from Alyssa Blankeship brought the Wolves within 11 points of the Yotes, down 21-32 at the start of the third quarter. With five minutes left Sarah Halversen had a layup for the Wolves, but the College of Idaho kept the lead 23-42. With 1 minute left Morgan Stanyer had back to back jumpers for Walla Walla, and the Wolves went into the third quarter down 28-59.
 
The first part of the fourth quarter was stagnant, with no baskets until a jumper from Halversen with 5:30 left in the first quarter. With 3:30 left Stanyer had a free throw bringing Walla Walla within 15 points of the Yotes, 35-60. The Wolves continued to fight back, and finished the game 40-60 after two free-throws from Alyssa Blankenship.
 
Sarah Halversen led the Wolves with 14 points and 7 rebounds, and Alyssa Blankenship had 10 points and 8 rebounds for Walla Walla. The Yotes were led by Madison Holly with 21 points and 2 rebounds, and Sophia Jackson with 13 points.
