Wolves Post Best Attack Percentage of Season

Kirkland, Wash. – The Lady Wolves continued their road trip by traveling to Northwest University for their second and final matchup against the Eagles. The Wolves (0-13, 0-12 CCC) would post their best attack percentage of the season, however they would allow the Eagles (12-9, 8-4 CCC) to hit for their season high as well en route to a straight set victory for the Eagles. (25-18, 25-17, 25-16)

In set one, the Wolves and Eagles would go back-and-forth early on, as no team was able to push their lead beyond two points. With the Wolves trailing 8-6, the Eagles would put together a 5-2 run to extend their lead to 13-8, forcing the Wolves to take their first timeout. The Wolves would respond out of the timeout with a 6-0 run to claim the lead, highlighted by three Sierra Ferro service aces. From here, the Eagles would respond with a run of their own, scoring the next six points and reclaiming the lead, 19-14. The Wolves could not recover and would drop set one to the Eagles, 25-18.

The start of set two would see a similar theme, as neither team would not push a lead beyond two points. With the set knotted at seven apiece, the Eagles would put together a quick 7-0 run to claim the lead and would not surrender that lead. The Eagles would hold off a Wolves rally en route to a 25-17 victory in set two.

In set three, the Wolves and Eagles would battle back-and-forth, as the home team held a two point lead early on. The Eagles would then put together an 8-1 run to put set three out of reach for the Wolves. The Eagles would beat the Wolves in set three, 25-18, and claim victory of the match in straight sets.

Morgan Doyle led the Wolves with a .500 attacking percentage and seven kills, while Krista Schafer notched 19 assists, and Erika Dudar recorded nine digs.
