College Place, Wash. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference announced its 2019 Fall Academic All-Conference team on Tuesday, and 22 Walla Walla University (WWU) student-athletes earned the honor. That set a new record for WWU. The previous record of 17 WWU fall sport student-athletes to earn Academic All-CCC honors was set in the fall of 2015 with 17. This honor is presented by U.S. Bank and is awarded to those student-athletes who possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 and at least sophomore standing.
"We are extremely proud to announce a record number of CCC academic all-conference honorees," said
Eric Cantrell, WWU Director of Athletics. "With the high academic standards that WWU emphasizes and the demands of being a collegiate athlete, to see our student-athletes balance athletics and academics at WWU is amazing and they deserve recognition. I hope that individuals in our community understand the dedication, above and beyond that of the traditional student that our student-athletes have to the university to achieve such success and support them as they fulfil their dreams here at WWU."
WWU's honorees included nine individuals from men's soccer, seven from women's volleyball, four from men's cross country and two from women's cross country. For a complete list of all 414 CCC winners click
