Portland, Ore. – The Walla Walla men's basketball played a weekend series at Warner Pacific University over the weekend. Both games were decided by double-digits, as the Knights dropped the Wolves in both contests to improve to 4-1 in conference play while the Wolves dropped to 1-3. The Knights shot well from downtown, posting double-digit made 3-pointers in both games, while the Wolves made only eight 3-pointers in both games.
GAME 1
THE BASICS:
Final: Walla Walla 71, Warner Pacific 93
GAME NOTES:
- The Knights forced the Wolves into 11 first-half turnovers, which led to 18 points. After the Knights built their largest lead of the first-half to 16, the Wolves scored five points in the last eight seconds to cut the halftime deficit to 45-34.
- Coming out of the halftime break, the Wolves continued cutting into the Knights lead, going on a 9-2 run to trail 47-43, the closest the Wolves had been since they trailed 22-19.
- The Knights matched the Wolves run and extended their lead back out to double digits and maintained a double-digit lead throughout most of the second half. The Wolves would cut the deficit to 10 multiple times, but the Knights continued to answer with the three-ball. The Knights made nine 3-pointers in the second half and ended the game on a 20-9 run to hold off the Wolves from coming back.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Zayne Browning led the Wolves in scoring, pouring in 25 points while KiAndre Gaddy recorded his seventh double-double of the season, recording 15 points and 15 rebounds. Alexander Robertson gave the Wolves a spark off the bench, scoring 11 points.
- Forward Dylan Browning recorded a career-high seven assists.
- The Knights were a plus-20 in points off turnovers.
- The Wolves shot just 15-for-28 from the free-throw line, while the Knights shot 12-for-15.
GAME 2
THE BASICS:
Final: Walla Walla 61, Warner Pacific 73

GAME NOTES:
- In a back-and-forth first half, the Wolves trailed 40-34 heading into the half. The Wolves were efficient in scoring points (11 points) off Knights turnovers (6) in the first half.
- The Wolves started the second half cold, going scoreless for the first nine minutes of the half. During that time the Knights scored 20 straight points, ballooning their lead to 60-34.
- The Wolves battled back, cutting the deficit to single digits at 67-59 after an Ethan Ford layup, but the Wolves ran out of time and the Knights went on to win 73-61.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- KiAndre Gaddy led the Wolves with a double-double (26 points, 19 rebounds). Zayne Browning, the only other double-digit scorer, notched 13 points.
- The Wolves recorded a season-high 49 rebounds, with Gaddy grabbing 11of his 19 on the offensive side. The Wolves converted 20 offensive rebounds to 20 second-chance points, while holding the Knights to seven second-chance points.
- Both teams shot identical from the free-throw line, shooting 11-for-19.
- Despite both teams making almost the same amount of field goals, the three-ball was the difference. The Knights shot 25-for-62 while knocking down 12 3-pointers, while the Wolves shot 24-for-73, but only knocked down two from beyond the arc.
The Wolves will continue their season after Christmas, heading for a two-game non-conference tournament in Helena, Mont. The Wolves will take on Montana Tech on Friday, December 27 at 2 p.m. The game will take place at Carroll College, the host of the tournament.
