Wolves Close Season Against Evergreen State College

College Place, Wash. – The Wolves and Geoducks concluded their seasons on Sunday afternoon on Windemuth Court. A hot start led to a 24-11 advantage after the opening quarter and the visiting Geoducks rode this momentum to a 73-64 victory while holding off a Wolves rally.

GAME NOTES:
  • The Geoducks held the Wolves scoreless in the final 2:45 of the opening quarter to take a 24-11 advantage after one.
  • A back-and-forth second quarter saw the Wolves trail the Geoducks at halftime, 37-26. Geoducks guard Alexcis Higginbotham led all scorers at halftime with 12 while Carolina Montes paced the Wolves with 8 points.
  • The Wolves received a spark from their bench in the third period, as they totaled 8 of 16 points in the quarter, however, the Geoducks maintained a 56-43 lead entering the final quarter.
  • A layup by Merrily Jones at the 4-minute mark gave the Geoducks a 15-point lead and they would hold off a Wolves rally for a 73-64 victory.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHTS:
  • Carolina Montes led the Wolves with 22 points, while Titi Graham notched another double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) in the losing effort. 
  • Merrily Jones (20 points, 14 rebounds) and Alexis Higginbotham (19 points, 10 rebounds) paced Evergreen with double-doubles in the victory.
