Caldwell, Idaho – In another close game with The College of Idaho, the Walla Walla women's basketball could not overcome a late Yotes lead and fell on Sunday afternoon in their second matchup, 54-50. The Wolves held the Yotes to 30-percent shooting, but could not shoot any better at 29-percent. The Yotes were a plus-nine at the free-throw line, shooting 21-for-28, while the Wolves shot 12-for-18.

GAME NOTES:
- Both teams played another back-and-forth first half with the Wolves holding a 12-11 lead after the opening quarter. The Wolves scored seven of the first nine points midway through the quarter before the Yotes chipped away at the Wolves lead for the last five minutes.
- After a Jaliyah Casem three-pointer extended the Wolves lead to four in the early stages of the second quarter, the Yotes scored eight quick points to take a 19-14 lead. With the Yotes holding a 21-14 lead midway through the quarter, the Wolves finished the quarter scoring nine of the last 11 points with Carolina Montes knocking down a three-pointer just before the half to tie the game up at 23.
- The Yotes scored the first nine points of the second half, holding the Wolves scoreless for five minutes before Paulina Quintana stopped the scoring drought, knocking down two free-throws to cut the deficit to 32-25. The Yotes extended their lead to nine with two minutes left in the quarter, but the Wolves chipped away at the lead to trail 37-33 entering the final quarter.
- The Wolves continued their run to start the fourth quarter, as two Casem free-throws tied the game up at 39 with eight-plus minutes remaining. The Wolves would go cold from the field over the next few minutes, as the Yotes built a small lead, despite the Wolves staying in attack mode and knocking down free-throws to keep them within striking distance. After the Yotes converted two free-throws to take a 49-44 lead, the Wolves could not put together a run to cut into the lead and the Yotes converted free-throws down the stretch to put the game on ice.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Carolina Montes led the Wolves with 22 points, while Jaliyah Casem recorded 14 points.
- The Wolves forced the Yotes into 22 turnovers and produced 22 points off those turnovers.
- The Yotes forced the Wolves into 23 fouls, producing 21 points from the free-throw line, while the Yotes committed 14 fouls, manufacturing 12 points from the free-throw line for the Wolves.
