Men’s Basketball Starts 2020 With Wire-to-Wire Victory at Evergreen State College

Olympia, Wash. – Walla Walla men's basketball started 2020 by traveling to the Geoducks of Evergreen State College. The Wolves were able to overcome a season-high 27 turnovers for their first-ever win at Evergreen State College. The Wolves shot a season-high 53-percent from the field while four players recorded double-digit scoring, led by KiAndre Gaddy's double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds.

GAME NOTES:
  • The Wolves started the game off with an 8-0 run and extended their lead to 14 at 21-7 five minutes into the game. Evergreen responded over the next ten minutes with an 18-6 run, forcing the Wolves into eight turnovers to cut the deficit to two at 27-25.
  • Despite the turnovers, the Wolves responded in the last six minutes of the half, extending their lead back to double-digits and finishing the half on a 16-6 run to take a 43-31 lead into the half.
  • The Geoducks could only cut the deficit to eight points in the second half, as the Wolves held a double-digit for most of the half to pick up their second conference win of the season.   
 INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • The Wolves were efficient on offense, shooting 53-percent (28-for-52) from the field and 80-percent (21-for-26) from the free-throw line.
  • The Wolves shot 59-percent in the first half and held Evergreen to 39-percent shooting.
  • KiAndre Gaddy recorded his ninth double-double of the season, while Zayne Browning recorded his fifth 20-plus scoring effort.
  • The 17 assists by the Wolves were the third-most of the season. Artur Borges Paraizo led the team with seven.
  • The Wolves were able to overcome being outscored 29-15 on points off turnovers and 28-5 on bench points.
