COLLEGE PLACE, WASH. - Walla Walla hosted Rocky Mountain College for their 2021-22 home opener. The Battlin' Bears shot 50-percent from the field while knocking down 12 three-pointers to guide them to a 79-51 win over the Wolves.

GAME NOTES:
- The Battlin' Bears raced out to a 16-2 lead, before the Wolves cut the deficit to 16-8, ending the opening quarter on a 6-0 run.
- RMC knocked down a triple to start the second quarter and extend their lead out to double digits, but the Wolves would own the next five-plus minute, as they chipped away to tie the game up 24-24, as the Wolves rode the hot hand of Paulina Quintana and Jaliyah Casem during that five-minute stretch, each scoring six points. The Battlin' Bears responded and closed the final two minutes of the half on a 11-0 run, taking a 36-25 lead into halftime.
- The Battlin' Bears built off their 11-0 run, holding the Wolves to single digits in the third period, while extending out their lead to 20-plus points and would hold this lead the entire second half.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
- Shauna Bribiescas led four Battlin' Bears with double-digits, recording 21 points.
- Carolina Montes led the Wolves, registering 20 points while Jaliyah Casem, the other Wolves player with double-digits notched 12 points.
- RMC converted 20 Wolves turnovers to 26 points while the Wolves scored 11 points off 10 RMC turnovers.

Walla Walla continues their season next week, starting their 2021-22 Cascade Collegiate Conference season by hosting Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho). The game is set to begin next Tuesday, November 23 at 5:30 p.m. on Windemuth Court.
