COLFAX, WASH. – The Walla Walla women's and men's cross country teams headed to the Cougar Classic this past Friday, hosted by Washington State University.
William Su made history, running the fastest time (25:56.0) for any Wolves runner at the Cougar Classic (8000K), beating the previous record (25.57.7) set by
Spencer Glubay back in 2019.
Final Results
The lone runner on the women's side,
Madelyn Stuart, ran a time 28:19.7 in the 6000K event.
On the men's side,
William Su led the Wolves, finishing 38th with his record setting time of 25:56.0.
Justin Corral-Yanez (41st), the next Wolves runner to place, finished a few spots back of Su, running a time of 26:05.9, while
KiAndre Gaddy (59th) rounded out the remaining Wolves runners, posting a time of 37:28.0.
Both Su and Corral-Yanez's times place them in the Wolves history book for 8000K events. Su now holds the 3rd fastest time, while Corral Yanez holds the 5th fastest time.
The Wolves will race next in Monmouth, Ore. for the Mike Johnson Classic, hosted by Western Oregon University, on Friday September 24.
