MONMOUTH, ORE. – The Walla Walla traveled to Western Oregon University for the Mike Johnson Classic this past Friday.
Justin Corral-Yanez etched his name on the Wolves record book, running a time of 26:20.3, which places him in the top-10 fastest 8k times in program history.
Final Results
The two runners on the women's side,
Madelyn Stuart and
Gabriela Ballance ran times of 30:15.7 and 39:59.1 in the 6K event.
On the men's side,
Justin Corral-Yanez led the Wolves, finishing 29th with his second fastest 8k time ever at 26:20.3.
William Su (100th), the next Wolves runner to place, ran a time of 29:20.7, while
Hector Ruvalcaba (129th) and
KiAndre Gaddy (138th) rounded out the remaining Wolves runners, posting times of 32:08.5 and 38:32.0.
The Wolves will have two weeks before their next race, which is the Cascade Conference Preview Race on Friday, October 8 in Olymia, Wash.
