College Place, Wash. — The Wolves fought hard against the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers Saturday night. Despite their efforts, the Wolves lost to the Mountaineers 77-81.
The Wolves had a slow start to their game tonight. At the half they were down 15 points to the Mounties. It wasn't till the second half that the Wolves picked up the pace and brought the score within 10 points throughout the second half. Andrew Vaughan 22 points for the night, gaining his 19 and 22 points off of back to back threes to end the game, bringing the score within four points. Caleb Golden also had a great night with 22 points. Andrew Vaughan and Ethan Ford tied with eight rebounds for the night. Caleb Golden also ended the night with five assists.
On the Mountaineers end, they kept the heat all night long. Phillip Malatare and Emmit Taylor led the Mounties with 24 points for the game. Ismael Valdez and Malachi Afework both had seven rebounds apiece to end the game. Phillip Malatare also had four assists for the night.
The Wolves are back on the road next weekend. They will play Multnomah on January 6 at 2 pm.
