COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — The Wolves (1-22,1-21) played in their last match of the season where they faced #3 Eastern Oregon University Mounties (28-1, 21-1). The Mounties took the victory with a three set sweep (25-12, 25-18, 25-14).

The gym was packed for the Wolves final match of the season. This last match was a bittersweet one as it was the last for the Wolves' two seniors, Meherio Krainer and Jocelyn Curiel Ruiz. Meherio Krainer has been a starting setter since she joined the team and Jocelyn has been a consistent hitter for the Wolves. Both of these ladies will be missed, as well as their hard work, leadership, and dedication to Wolves Volleyball.

Coach Breayn Bussell was glad to see that the girls were having fun, "the girls had a lot of fun today, playing the top team is hard, especially on Senior Night, but they played well and kept their heads up. I am looking forward to the offseason so we can work on specifics and grow."

Walla Walla kept up with #3 Eastern Oregon and even had a three point lead in the second set. Lauren Moody led the Wolves in kills with seven followed by Femke Esising who had five. Meherio Krainer had an impressive match for her senior night and led the team with 11 assists. Lauren Moody also led in digs with eight, followed by Zoe Cessna who had six.

For the Mounties, Madison Morgan led with 10 kills, followed by Kiauna Mack who had seven. Alexis McMurtrey had 15 assists and Hannah Ledgerwood had 13. Libero Hailey Arritola had 16 digs for the night. This win for Eastern Oregon was a milestone for Head Coach Kaki McLean Morehead as it was her 400th win.

While the season did not turn out the way the Wolves hoped, the Wolves showed improvement, and will continue their growth in the offseason. Make sure to stay updated with all things Wolves Volleyball, and look out for the schedule for 2024.
