COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — Walla Walla University Women's Basketball took on the Warriors of Corban University in Saturday night matchup. The Warriors took the win, 58-47.
The Wolves had a slow start to their night, with Corban taking an early lead in the first quarter. Walla Walla was able to come back from a 9-point difference, to take a short lead until Corban's Autumn Agnew brought the game back. Agnew went two for three from the three in the first half. Going into the half, the Warriors took a three-point lead.
The second half was not in favor of the Wolves either. Walla Walla's shooting was not falling, with their top shooters, not even hitting in the double-digits. Team leader Chairah Daniels had an off night only scoring six points, making it one of the few games where she has not had a double-double. Jaliyah Casem was the only player for the Wolves to score in the double digits, with 16 points. Chariah Daniels did dominate on the rebound, with 14 total for the night.
Corban was led by Autumn Agnew and Maddie Godwin who both had 13 points each. Lizzy Bennett followed behind with 11 points. Kirsten Koehnke led the team with seven rebounds and six assists.
Walla Walla goes on the road next Wednesday, where they will take on Lewis-Clark State College at 5 pm on their home court.
