COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — Walla Walla had a rough night as they went up against the Corban Warriors, only scoring 66 to their 101. The Warriors gave the Wolves their third conference loss of the season.
Corban came out with lots of energy, playing a fast paced game against the Wolves. It was a team win for Corban, as they had five players scoring in the double-digits. The Wolves on the other hand struggled to find their groove, shooting 34.4% for the game compared to the Warriors who was shooting 55.9%. Not only was the shooting an issue for the Wolves, but fouls on both sides did not help give the Wolves any momentum. Corban had a total of 23 fouls, with one technical, and Walla Walla had 18 fouls, with one technical as well.
This matchup was not a pretty one, but the Wolves still tried to fight back until the last second. Four players scored in the double digits, with Junior Andrew Vaughan taking the lead with 20 points. Freshman center Soren Dalan, had a double-double for the night with 16 points and 11 rebounds, as well as having three blocks and two steals. Ethan Ford and Josue Mireles both had 10 points each. Ford led the team with seven assists.
For the Warriors, Aundree Polk led the Warriors with 28 points and seven rebounds. Taylor Anderson followed behind with 18 points and led with three assists. Jay Wilson had 16 points, Reece Van Lierop had 10, and Collin Warmouth had 11 points.
Walla Walla goes on the road where they will take on the Lewis-Clark State Warriors on their court at 7 pm, Wednesday December 20.
