COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — Walla Walla Men's Basketball was given their first conference loss of the 23-24 season from Lewis-Clark State Warriors. The Warriors put up a tough fight going 94 to the Walla Walla Wolves' 68.
The Wolves had an off-day, whereas the Warriors were on. The Wolves shots were not falling as they have been, with an average of 23.8% from the 3-point, and 44.3% for field goals for the game. Last week, Walla Walla was shooting an average of 57.8% for field goals against Evergreen. Walla Walla's defense was also not as tight-knit as it usually is either. Despite the loss, the Wolves efforts did not go unnoticed, with senior guard Ethan Ford earning 25 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Freshman, Soren Dalan, also had a good night, earning himself another double-double with 14 points, and 10 rebounds, as well as having three assists and three blocks. Andrew Vaughan followed behind with nine points for the night.
On the Warriors end, they dominated on the offense, with five of their players scoring in the double-digits. Alton Hamilton led with 18 points, followed by Jaedon Bradley and Quentin Raynor who both had 16 points and two steals apiece. John Lustig scored 14 points and had two assists for the evening. LC State's unstoppable offense and pressure defense is what helped lead them to victory over Walla Walla University.
The Wolves will be back on home court next week, where they will take on the Beacons of Bushnell University at 1:30 pm in an early afternoon game on Friday, December 15.
