Box Score WALLA WALLA, Wash. — Walla Walla University came out with a slow start against Bushnell University in the first set. The second set was a completely different story, as they fought hard, coming within only two points, 23-25, but eventually lost out in the third (0-3; 13-25, 23-25, 13-25). Allowing Bushnell the clean sweep for the afternoon.
Walla Walla played their hearts out, leaving everything out on the court, which was especially seen in their comeback in the second set. Freshman Femke Eising led the team in kills with eight, followed by Natalia Jimenez with six. Transfer setter Danielle Fassmausili had a great night with a double-double and leading the team in assists and digs with 12 apiece. Makayla Wheeler followed behind with six digs for the match.
On Bushnell's end, Brooke Silvernail led the Beacons with 11 kills, followed by Leah Agost, who earned seven out of the teams 37 kills for the afternoon. Setter Katie Belitz had 15 assists for the match and libero Bella Parque led the team with 17 digs.
The Wolves will be playing nationally ranked #4 Corban University Saturday evening at 9 pm in the Dietrich Dome at Walla Walla Community College.
