Box Score COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — Walla Walla played Lewis-Clark State Wednesday evening on home court. Lewis-Clark State Warriors came out on top with a 3-0 win over the Walla Walla Wolves (25-17, 25-16, 25-13).
Walla Walla's head coach, Breayn Bussell, stated that despite the loss, "they [Walla Walla] played well—playing as a team, and serving well." The Wolves had three aces for the match, two of them from sophomore Celeste Santellano, and one from freshman Kaelyn Halili. Halili went on a serving run in the first set, bringing the Wolves from being down by five points (11-6), to only two (11-9). Not only was serving going well for the Wolves, but freshman Femke Eising led the Wolves with eight kills, followed by Lauren Moody who had seven kills and led the team with 10 digs for the match.
The Wolves efforts throughout the match definitely did not go unnoticed, always fighting for the next point, yet despite their attempts to gain control, the Warriors did not let up. Lewis-Clark state's hitting percentage was .429 compared to Walla Walla's .108, with Juliauna Forgach leading the team with 13 kills. Abbey Neff also had a big night for the Warriors with 23 assists for the match. Kenzie Dean led the Warriors with 14 digs followed by Gianna Anderson who had 13.
The Wolves will be back in action Friday afternoon at 2 pm against Multnomah on home court.
