COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — Walla Walla University (1-6, 1-6 CCC) took on the No. 24 Raiders of Southern Oregon University (10-2-1, 7-0-1 CCC) on home field Sunday afternoon. The Raiders took the win, 5-0.
The Wolves were unable to stop the Raiders offense as they scored two of their five goals in the first half, both of which were from Alex Hjulmand. Hjulmand was assisted by Kaito Nakayama at 6:14 and Felix Valenzuela Paz at 40:32. After three minutes into the second half, Josué Ghiessy came out and scored Southern Oregon's third goal from Jin Inoue. The fourth and fifth goals were scored by Sky Charley-Bolyard (64:55) and Jayden Cameron (72:25), who were assisted by Emi Rojo and Tristan Skerritt, respectively.
For Walla Walla, Andres Espinel, Eniola Smith, Fabien Graham, and Jose Roblero all attempted to get on the scoreboard but fell short of getting a goal.
Southern Oregon's Casey Ruvolo had two saves for the match, while Kylan LeGault had 11 saves, a career high for him.
The Wolves will go on the road next weekend, where they will face Northwest University on Friday, October 18 at 3 pm, and Evergreen State College on Sunday, October 20 at 3 pm.
