COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — Walla Walla Women's Basketball opened their 2024-25 season at home on Thursday evening against Thompson Rivers University, where the Wolves took their first win of the season, 59-48.
Walla Walla kept a steady lead throughout the game, though the Timberwolves of Thompson Rivers fought hard to close the gap. However their efforts were not enough as the Wolves continued to keep control of the game leading to their victory over the Timberwolves.
For Walla Walla, Seniors
Chariah Daniels and
Jordan Green-Wallace dominated on that stat sheet with Daniels gaining 11 rebounds and nine points, and Green-Wallace had 10 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore returner
Natalee Trevino also had 10 points for the game with two steals.
Sidney Folkenberg led the team in steals with three. Freshman
Allison Haslam had nine points for the evening.
On the Timberwolves end, Morgan Eichenberger had 11 rebounds and six points. On offense, Allison Hansen and Sydney Vollrath led in points with nine each. Sydney Vollrath also had four steals for the night.
The Wolves will be on the road to McMinnville, Oregon where they will take on Linfield University at 7 pm on November 2nd.
