COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — Walla Walla University Women's volleyball (9-11, 8-10 CCC) concluded weekend games with another three set sweep over the Lions of Multnomah University (2-20, 2-16 CCC) Saturday evening (25-19, 25-9, 25-15).
Walla Walla's offense was unstoppable with a total of 39 kills and 36 assists compared to Multnomah's 18 kills and 17 assists.
Sahara Browning led the attack with 17 kills, followed by
Natalia Jimenez who had 10, earning her 200th conference kill.
Gabrielle Faamausili helped assist the Wolves attack with 16 assists, and
Melissa Monterroza followed with 14. Browning also had a career high with seven aces for the match.
The Wolves defense was led by
Kiana Cueto who had 12 digs for the night, with Browning trailing behind with nine, followed by
Idalis Bedore with seven.
On the Lions end, Myckayla Shaver had seven kills, and Jade Ilaoa had four. Sophia Hernandez led the Lions with nine and Lauren Porter led with eight digs.
This win marks a historic milestone for Wolves Volleyball as this is the first time since 2009 that they have earned nine wins overall. It also makes Athletics history with the most conference wins since joining the Cascade Collegiate Conference in 2015.
The Wolves will be back in action next week where they will go up against Eastern Oregon University on Thursday, October 31 at 6 pm in La Grande, Oregon.
