COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — Walla Walla Women's Basketball fell to the Lions of Multnomah in a hard fought matchup—83 to 80. This loss came on the Wolves' senior night as they played in their final home game of the 23-24 season.
The Wolves fought hard against the Lions, keeping the score close throughout. However, in the fourth quarter the Lions took the lead, and kept the Wolves from scoring. There was some hope for the Wolves to send the game into overtime, with a steal by Jaliyah Casem with 5 seconds left in the game. Yet, Casem's shot was just a little short, giving the Lions their third conference win of the season.
For Walla Walla, freshman Natalee Trevino led with 17 points for the game. Junior Chariah Daniels followed with yet another double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds. Both Jaliyah Casem and Jordan Green-Wallace had 14 points for the game, followed by Maren Jones who had 11. Maren Jones also led the team in assists with five. Senior Savannah Zamora had five rebounds, three points, and one steal. Senior Clara Wiltgen had one block and one rebound.
On Multnomah's end, Mia Martineau led with 25 points, followed by Kailyn Allison who had 20. Gracie Browning had 12 rebounds and 12 points, earning herself a double-double for the night, as well as adding two steals to her stat sheet.
Walla Walla will go on the road next weekend where they will play in their final conference games of the 23-24 season. They will face No. 22 Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon at 12 pm
