WALLA WALLA, Wash. — Walla Walla University Women's Volleyball (6-4, 5-3 CCC) took on the Owls of Oregon Tech (8-7, 1-6) in a late Saturday evening matchup. The Owls took all three sets (24-26, 16-25, 8-25), earning their first conference win of the 2024 season.
Walla Walla fought hard throughout, forcing impressive rallies, and making the Owls work to get the win. Despite the Wolves' efforts, OIT took the win and earned their first Cascade Collegiate Conference win of the season. Oregon Tech out-hit Walla Walla, with a team kill percentage of .286, compared to Walla Walla's .062.
For the Wolves, Sahara Browning and Natalia Jimenez had 10 and nine kills for the night, followed by Femke Eising who had six. Melissa Monterrroza and Danielle Faamuasili both had 13 assists. Danielle Faamausili had nine digs and Sahara Browning had seven.
On the Owls end, Molly Grace led with 11 digs, followed by Kaley Whalen who had seven. Molly Grace led OIT with 11 kills, followed by Savanna Sterck who had seven. Lucy Boyd had an impressive night with 27 assists.
The Wolves will be on the road for their next games, where they will go up against Bushnell University on Friday at 2 pm, and No. 7 Corban University Saturday evening at 9 pm.
