Wolves Volleyball Makes History Once Again in Epic Battle Against Northwest University

KIRKLAND, Wash. — The Walla Walla University Wolves (4-2, 3-1 CCC) played in a 5-set thriller Saturday evening against the Northwest University Eagles (5-5, 0-2 CCC) where they earned their third conference win in a row (25-27, 25-20, 25-22, 20-25, 15-7). This win marks the first time in Wolves Volleyball history that Walla Walla has beaten Northwest. 

In this epic battle between the Wolves and the Eagles, Walla Walla played their hearts out. This amazing performance from the Wolves helped multiple players break personal records. It also helped lead sophomore outside hitter, Sahara Browning to earn Volleyball Attacker of the Week for the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Sahara Browning has worked her way into the number one position for kills in the CCC as well as third in kills per set for the NAIA. She also broke a personal record and school record for most kills in a match against Northwest with 26. 

Senior setter, Danielle Faamausili, was another key player who also broke a personal record in both assists and digs with 36 and 18 respectively. She also has worked her way into second in assists for the CCC. Another player to note that has made her way into the top three in kills for the CCC is Natalia Jimenez. Jimenez had an incredible night as well, gaining career highs of 18 kills and 15 digs.

Femke Eising was another player to break her personal best of 13 kills in a set, to 17 kills as she helped lead the Wolves to victory. Melissa Monterroza was also able to earn a new career high of 17 assists against Northwest. 

For Northwest, Delaney Sparks and Kalli Budge both shared nine kills for the match. Followed by Ellie Van Berkum who had 15 digs, and four assists. Setters Allie Flynn and Morgan Harter both contributed 17 assists to the stat sheet for the Eagles.
