WALLA WALLA, Wash. —
Andrew Vaughan became the greatest 3-point shooter in Walla Walla Men's Basketball history, but it was Multnomah who took the Cascade Conference contest 87-77 at Windemuth Court on Friday.
The loss dropped the Walla Walla record to 3-16 overall and 2-13 in CCC play.
Vaughan made four 3-pointers on the day to move his career total to 166. The previous record was held by Chad Torkelsen at 163. The senior finished with 27 points and nine rebounds in the game.
Soren Dalan had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Almonds Sebirokwa added 14 points and
Thomas Mestrov finished with 11.
The Wolves trailed by as much as 20 points in the game, but battled back to get within single-digits before the Lions were able to put the game away.
Walla Walla shot well in the second half going 16-of-32 and shot 46.3% on the day. The Wolves caused 14 turnovers and scored 40 points in the paint.
Multnomah was led by Noah Madsen who finished with 18 points. Braedon Edison added 17 points and Marje Windfield put up 11 points in the victory. Keilan Torkornoo had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.Â
The key to the game was points off turnovers. The Lions scored 30 points off 22 turnovers by Walla Walla. Multnomah had 19 second chance points and 32 points off the bench.
The win improved Multnomah's record to 13-7 overall and 8-6 in CCC action.
