COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — The Walla Walla Women's Basketball team lost in its season opener 84-43 in a tough test against (RV) Montana Tech in a non-conference game on Thursday.
Jaylo Bello led the Wolves (1-1) with 11 points and added three assists and two steals.
Brooklyn Coe hit a pair of 3s and finished with 10 points.
Sidney Folkenberg had seven points and led the team with eight rebounds.
Halle Haber had 24 points for the Orediggers (3-0) on 11-of-16 shooting and completed the double-double with 10 rebounds. Liv Wangerin added 13 points and Kameryn Ketcham finished with 10.
Montana Tech had a strong 50-23 lead at halftime, but it was a 23-2 third quarter that pushed the game out of reach. Walla Walla continued to fight and outscored MT 18-11 in the fourth.
