COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — The Walla Walla Women's Basketball team could not find its footing in an 88-27 Cascade Conference loss to No. 10 Lewis-Clark State on Tuesday at Windemuth Court.
The Wolves (2-6, 1-2) were only able to muster nine points in the first half and followed it up with back-to-back nine-point quarters in the second half. The Warriors improved to 8-3 overall and 2-1 in conference play with the victory.
Sidney Folkenberg led Walla Walla with eight points on 3-of-7 shooting and added seven rebounds.
Jaylo Bello had seven points and five boards and
Allison Haslam had five points and five rebounds.
Meghan Rasmussen was strong inside with nine boards.
The Wolves could not find their range all night long and went 0-for-16 from beyond the arc and were held to 20.9% shooting in the game. Walla Walla kept the rebound (39-34) battle close and scored 12 points in the paint.
Sitara Byrd led the Warriors with 17 points with a strong 6-of-8 shooting night. Elle Brockman had 13 points, Payton Hymas added 12 points and Kendall Wallace finished with 10 points. 12 different players for LC recorded a basket in the contest.
The Warriors had 11 3-pointers and 19 assists on 34 baskets made and forced 26 turnovers.
