Wolves lead at half, but Corban takes victory

SALEM, Ore. — The Walla Walla Men's Basketball team led at halftime, but fell to Corban 70-60 in the final Cascade Conference game of the season on Saturday.
The Wolves finished the season 4-22 overall and 3-19 in CCC action.

"All in all, we didn't have the season results we wanted. Now that we've addressed the basketball, God has shown up and shown out throughout the season," Walla Walla coach Brandon Broome said. "There were many personal life changing events that our team faced and through it all it brought us closer to each other and to God. I'm really going to miss this group and I pray that we all remember what the Lord did for us this year. Thank you to Wolves Nation for your support, it's beyond appreciated."

Sophomore Soren Dalan played tough inside with a team-high 21 points and 10 rebounds. Dalan recorded his 20th double-double all-time and was 9-of-10 from the field.

Senior Andrew Vaughan concluded his historic Walla Walla career with 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting, three assists and two steals. Vaughan finished his four years with the Wolves with the all-time record in total points (1392), field goals made (520), 3-pointers made (181), field goals attempted (1,150) and 3-pointers attempted (519). The Portland, Ore. native finished one steal behind Artur Borges Paraizo for the all-time record.

Walla Walla focused its offense inside and scored 48 points in the paint. The Wolves shot 62.5% (15-of-24) in the first half and took a 33-32 lead into the break. WWU won the rebound battle 31-30 and scored 14 points on 10 turnovers.
