SALEM, Ore. — The Walla Walla Women's Basketball team closed out the 2024-25 season with a 78-57 loss to Corban in a Cascade Conference contest on Saturday.
The Wolves finished the season 7-21 overall and 4-18 in CCC action. The seven wins are the second most in program history since joining the NAIA in 2009.
"This team faced numerous challenges, but always supported each other throughout the season," Walla Walla coach Tony Nakashima said, "They've grown so much and I couldn't be prouder of every single one of them. They truly are a fun group."
Senior
Chariah Daniels concluded her historic career at Walla Walla with another milestone. Daniels played all 40 minutes and finished the season with 1,006 minutes played. She is only the third women's basketball player to reach the 1,000 minutes played milestone in a single season and is now second all-time behind Carolina Montes (1,017).
Daniels set single-season records for WWU in total rebounds (284) and assists (86), finished second on the single-season leaderboard in minutes played (1,006) and third in steals (69) and free throws made (96). The Wichita, Kan. native finished with the all-time record in total rebounds (794) and steals (196).
The senior finished her final game with the Wolves with 16 points and six rebounds and was a perfect 8-for-8 at the free throw line. As a team, Walla Walla was 17-of-20 from the line.
Natalee Trevino led the Wolves with 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting.
Jaylo Bello had 16 points, four steals and three assists. Bello finished the season with a team-record 71 3-pointers made this season.
Madison Hodnett led Corban with 16 points as 10 different Warriors scored in the win, Hdnett added 11 rebounds. Gemma LaVergne had 12 points, Lizzy Bennett had 11 points and Tori Younker had 10 assists.
Corban shot 33-of-62 (53.2%) from the field and outrebounded the Wolves 39-24 in the game. Corban locked up the seventh-seed with a record of 11-17 overall and 9-13 in conference play and will face Oregon Tech in the first round of the CCC tournament.
