The Walla Walla Golf team's spring season kicks off on Monday with the Warrior Spring Classic in Lewiston, Idaho at the Lewiston Golf and Country Club.
The fall season saw both the men's and women's teams take strong strides forward and the Wolves have three tournaments on the calendar before the Cascade Conference Championships in late April. The men cut 22 strokes of their score from the opening tournament of the season at Bushnell University to the final fall tournament at British Columbia. The women improved by 14 strokes.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Walla Walla returns to the Warrior Spring Classic on Monday and Tuesday. Last season, the men shot a team score of 936 and finished in 10th place.
Eddie Tache shot 76 or better in all three rounds and tied for 22nd place.
Aspen Smokey had her best tournament with the Wolves with a two round score of 167 to finish in 21st place, the women wrapped up the event last year in sixth place.
Two weeks later it will be a trip to Ashland, Ore. for the Spring Classic at Stone Ridge Golf Club hosted by Southern Oregon on April 7-8. It is the first time the Raiders are hosting the tournament.
The Wolves will host the Walla Walla Invitational on April 13-14 at the beautiful Wine Valley Golf Club. Tache finished in a tie for third place in the 28-golfer field with a 4-over 148 in last year's event.
Andrew Kuljis recorded a top-five placement with a 6-over 150. Smokey took second in the five-woman field with a 25-over 169.
The Cascade Conference Championship is at Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland, Ore. on April 21-23. The Wolves will look to improve on their fifth place finish in the women and eighth place finish in the men in 2024.
