COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — Five scored in double figures for the Walla Walla Men's Basketball team, but (RV) Eastern Oregon pulled away for a 96-72 Cascade Conference victory on Friday.
Chike Ezeonu and
JT Fenz led the Wolves with 14 points apiece.
Jordan Jackson had 13 points,
Reese Snellman added 12 points and
Soren Dalan completed a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Walla Walla is now 0-17 on the season and 0-11 in CCC play. The Mountaineers improved to 14-5 overall and 9-2 in conference.
The Wolves went on a 10-0 run late in the first half to cut a 13-point deficit to just three after a 3 by Fenz. It was the closest the home team was able to get the rest of the game.
Eamon Monahan led EOU with 24 points. Trent Rogers added 17 points, Porter Abrams finished with 16 points. Cole Hammack filled up the stat sheet with nine points, 10 assists and three steals.
Monahan and Rogers combined to go 11-of-16 from beyond the arc. Eastern Oregon went 18-of-35 (51.4%) from 3 as a team and assisted on 29 of 39 made field goals. The Mountaineers were tough to stop with a 60% shooting percentage and 16 points off of 10 offensive boards.
Walla Walla forced 13 turnovers and scored 21 points off of those added opportunities. The Wolves scored first with a jumper by Fenz and made 11-of-13 free throw attempts.
