KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. —
Allison Haslam had a career-high 25-point performance for the shorthanded Walla Walla Women's Basketball team in a 104-46 Cascade Conference loss to Oregon Tech on Saturday.
Haslam was 10-of-22 from the field and hit four 3-pointers and scored more than half of the points scored by the Wolves. WWU was once again only able to play with six players and dropped to 3-17 overall and 1-13 in conference play.
Oregon Tech improved to 15-7 on the season and is now in a four-way tie for the top of the CCC standings with a conference record of 11-3.
The Owls had eight players reach double figures in the point column. Tatum Schmerbach led OIT with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Chelsea Ching had 15 points and Olivia Sprague added 13 points. Kendall Fealey, Jozie Ramos and Avery Andrews finished with 12 points each. Ayla Marston contributed 11 points and Maddie Eischen completed the game with 10 points.
Walla Walla kept it competitive for a quarter and a half and had an early 3-2 lead after a 3 by
Delaney Gunther just 25 seconds into the game. Oregon Tech was able to lead the rest of the way, but the Wolves had the gap down to just five after another 3-pointer by Gunther with 7:59 left in the first half. The Owls put on the full court pressure and caused havoc for the WWU offense and led by 26 at halftime.
