COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. —
Jaylo Bello scored 32 points for the Walla Walla Women's Basketball team in a 99-59 loss to Corban in the Cascade Conference regular season finale on Saturday.
The strong scoring performance by the sophomore propelled her season total to 424 points, six more than the previous record held by Carolina Montes in the 2021-22 season. Montes scored 418 points that season. Bello made six 3-pointers and added three assists.
Walla Walla concluded its season with a record of 3-22 overall and 1-18 in conference play. Corban improved to 22-5 on the year and 15-4 in CCC play and earned the top overall seed in the conference and will host the conference tournament.
Sidney Folkenberg added 12 points and three assists for the Wolves.
Allison Haslam had a team high five assists and brought in five rebounds. The lone senior on the team,
Natalia Jimenez had her best game with the program with four points and five boards.
The Warriors were led by Tori Younker who scored 27 points with all of her points coming from beyond the arc. Younker was 9-of-11 from 3 and added five assists and four rebounds. Jenna Albrecht had 12 points and Kylie Ihrig added 11 points.
Walla Walla kept with Corban through the first quarter and only trailed 24-22 after the first ten minutes. The Warriors came out of the quarter break on fire defensively and held the Wolves to 18.2% shooting from the field and only eight points. CRB took a 19 point lead into halftime and extended it to 39 by the end of the third quarter.
