Dalan, Wolves Push (RV) Warriors to the Brink

LEWISTON, Idaho Soren Dalan moved into sole possession of first place in Walla Walla Men's Basketball history (since joining the NAIA in 2009) in career rebounds after a 13-rebound performance in a hard-fought 64-57 loss to (RV) Lewis-Clark State in a Cascade Conference games on Wednesday.

Dalan is now at 546 total rebounds in his career with WWU and moved ahead of Tristan Greenidge for the program record. The junior added a team-high 25 points and recorded his 23rd double-double at Walla Walla. Dalan is now one double-double behind KiAndre Gaddy for the most in program history since 2009.

The Wolves are still hunting that first victory of the season at 0-21 overall and 0-15 in CCC action. Lewis-Clark State improved to 18-5 on the season and 12-3 in conference play.

Jordan Jackson was the only other player on WWU to top double-figures in offensive output with 14 points. Reese Snellman was second on the team with 12 boards. Dalan tied a personal-record with five blocks.

Walla Walla outrebounded the Warriors 42-40 and held LC State to 37.7% from the field. The Wolves led three different times in the contest and led by as much as six points in the first half. WWU led by one with 2:20 remaining in the game after a jumper by JT Fenz. The Warriors clamped up defensively and scored the final eight points of the game.
Lewis-Clark State was led by John Lustig who finished with 21 points and 12 boards. Dylan Skaife added 13 points and Brandon Suber had 10 points in the win.

The Wolves return home to play Warner Pacific in a Cascade Conference contest at 9 p.m. on Saturday.
