KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Walla Walla University Women's Golf had a historic performance at the Oregon Tech Fall Invitational, rewriting the program's record book across the 36-hole tournament. The Wolves finished fourth with a score of 645, setting a new program record for the lowest team score at a 36-hole tournament by 24 strokes.

Walla Walla opened the tournament with a 330, a score that would have set the program record for lowest team round. The Wolves followed with an even stronger performance in the second round, shooting a 315 to break the previous record for lowest team round by 18 strokes.

Freshman Harper Szpur made an immediate impact in her collegiate debut, leading the Wolves with a team-best 11-over-par 155. Szpur's score is tied for the second-lowest 36-hole score in program history. Her first-round 78 and second-round 77 both rank among the top five individual rounds in Walla Walla women's golf history.

Junior Mariana Posada continued her strong play from last season, finishing just behind Szpur at 12-over par. Posada added her name to the record book with a pair of strong rounds. Her first-round 80 tied the score she recorded at last year's Warrior Fall Classic, while her second-round 76 ranks as the third-lowest individual round in program history. The 76 also tied a record Posada set last spring.

Ayelet Altalef rounded out the Wolves' scoring lineup with a 161, finishing 17-over par. Her rounds of 81 and 80 both rank among the top 20 individual rounds in program history.

Nell Dodds finished with a 177, highlighted by a second-round 81 that earned a spot in the program's record book. Emily Keel rounded out the Wolves' lineup with a two-round score of 184, finishing 43rd.

Head coach Andrew Kuljis said the team's performance was a significant accomplishment to open the season.

"This was an incredible accomplishment and something that we should all be proud of," Kuljis said. "I am proud of how this team continued to compete, learn and improve through these two days. There is still a lot to build on moving forward, and I'm excited about where we are headed."
