Wolves Improve in Loss to New Hope

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – This afternoon saw the Wolves make large strides in the right direction. Walla Walla University still lost 50-74 to New Hope Christian College but it was their best performance to date.
 
Walla Walla started the game off with a 12-9 led over the visiting Deacons but that would be their largest lead of the afternoon. Going into the half, the Wolves were only down 22-25.
 
Turnovers proved costly in the second half with WWU giving up 26 turnovers to NHCC's 12. Christina Thermidor kept things close with a game high 11 rebounds but the Wolves would only shoot 33% from the field as the Deacons took the game 74-50.
 
New Hope was led by Ellie Gould with 17 points and 7 rebounds while Taya Harbick had a game high 6 steals.  
 
WWU stat leaders were Christina Thermidor and Grace Wallace with 14 and 15 points along with 11 and 8 rebounds respectively. Lauren Pernu contributed 6 rebounds and 4 steals before fouling out in the fourth quarter.
 
The Wolves next game is November 21 at 7:00pm in Lewiston Idaho vs Lewis-Clark State College.
