Portland, Ore. – It was a career day for Wolves guard
Carolina Montes as she notched a career high 26 points in addition to setting the school record for scoring since joining the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Wolves would rally after trailing late in third period and rode Montes's career day for a 72-63 win over the Lions to pick up their first conference win.

GAME NOTES:
Despite being down at halftime 36-31 and the Lions extending their lead to nine with just over a minute remaining in the period, the Wolves continued to show fight despite the Lions height.
Carolina Montes would knock down all three free-throw attempts after being fouled with one-second remaining in the period to complete a 6-0 run to pull the Wolves within three points entering the fourth quarter.

Titi Graham at the 5:50 mark in the fourth quarter would give the Wolves a 60-58 lead and they would not relinquish this lead for the remainder of the quarter. Led by steller zone defense and timely made baskets, the Wolves ended the game on a 13-5 run to preserve their first conference victory of the season.
Despite being outrebounded 56-38, Walla Walla would only surrender 17 second chance points while scoring 17 points off 16 Lions turnovers. The Wolves went to the free-throw line 21 times, making 17 of them while the Lions went to the line only eight times and made six.
PLAYER SPOTLIGHTS:
Carolina Montes notched a career high and set the new school record since joining the CCC with 26 points, superseding the 25 points
Alyssa Blankenship set almost two years ago to the exact date (12/11/16) and the 25 points fellow Orangewood Academy teammate
Jacqueline Saucedo set earlier this preseason against Simpson University. Montes shot 11 and made a career high 11 free-throw attempts while contributing 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals.
Titi Graham led the Wolves in rebounding, notching 9 while contributing 3 steals.
Itzel Rubio contributed 14 points, all coming in the first half.
