Hot Start to Second Half Lifts Lutes Over Wolves

Tacoma, Wash. – The Wolves traveled to Tacoma, Wash. for a nonconference matchup with the Lutes of Pacific Lutheran University (PLU). The Lutes (3-2, 1-1 NWC) coming off their first conference win over Linfield College looked to continue their momentum against their second Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) opponent.  The Wolves (1-10, 0-2 CCC) looked to move pass early season injuries while getting their second nonconference win of the season. A 19-1 Lutes run to open the third quarter served to be the difference as PLU would beat the Wolves 76-42 on Thursday evening.

Head coach Paul Starkebaum addressed his teams effort after tonight. "Very proud of our team tonight," said Starkebaum. We really stepped it up on defense in the first half. Titi and Morgan both battled foul trouble the whole game. Ashton and Raegan made big contributions on defense. Itzel and Carolina are really stepping up as PG's. Tonight was a positive step for our teams growth."
