Women's Basketball Falls to Lewis-Clark State College in Non-Conference Matchup

Lewiston, Idaho – Walla Walla women's basketball traveled to Lewis-Clark State College (LCSC) for a non-conference matchup on Thursday evening. The Warriors scored 21 points off turnovers to lead them to a 65-48 victory.

 GAME NOTES:
  • The Wolves took a quick 6-0 lead three minutes into the opening quarter, however, the Warriors chipped away and outscored the Wolves 13-4 to take a 13-10 lead after the quarter.
  • The Wolves cut the deficit to 16-14 after an Isabella Robles free-throw, but the Warriors went on a 9-0 to extend their lead and would take a 10-point lead at 30-20 heading into the half. The Warriors held the Wolves to 32-percent shooting from the field while shooting 40-percent from the field themselves. The Warriors were 9-for-10 from the free-throw line, while the Wolves shot juts 1-for-2.
  •  The Warriors scored the first nine points to extend the lead to its largest (19) at 39-20 and took a 16-point lead after three quarters.
  • Despite the Wolves having their highest-scoring quarter of the game in the fourth (18 points), the Warriors answered every run the Wolves threw at them and scored their highest quarter in the fourth quarter as well (19 points). The Warriors held onto their double-digit lead through the quarter, as the Wolves could only cut it to 14 before the Warriors built the lead back to 20.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Carolina Montes (18 points) and Isabella Robles (16 points and seven rebounds) led the Wolves.
  • The Wolves committed 20 fouls, leading to 16-for-23 shooting from the free-throw line for the Warriors. The Warriors committed only eight fouls, sending the Wolves to the free-throw line for 7-for-9 shooting.
  • The Warriors did not register a double-digit scorer, but had 10 players record at least five points or better.
  • The 48 points scored by the Wolves are the highest in five matchups against LCSC since 2010.
