Redding, Calif. – Walla Walla concluded their road trip, taking on their third Cal Pac opponent, Simpson University. Unfortunately for the Wolves, a heavy Simpson attack in the second half led the Hawks to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Wolves.
The first half was a defensive battle as each team had opportunities to score, however, both defenses held their ground and the halftime score sat at 0-0. In the 52nd minute, Simpson finally broke through, as Alexis Rodriguez netted the first goal of the match.
With the Wolves sitting in a 2-0 hole in the 70th minute,
Jordan St. George sent a cross into the box where
Emmett Semple threaded the needle over the outstretched arms of the goalkeeper, cutting the Simpson lead to 2-1. Unfortunately for the Wolves, this served as their only goal while Simpson converted two more opportunities for a final score of 4-1.
THE NUMBERS:
- The Wolves had six shots on goal, compared to 10 for Simpson.
- The Wolves picked up one yellow yard while Simpson picked up six.

The Wolves look to move on and have two weeks to prepare for their crosstown matchup with Whitman College on Thursday, September 12 at 6 p.m.
