EUGENE, OR. - Walla hit the road this past weekend, traveling to Corban University and Bushnell University for their final road trip. Jaliyah Casem led the Wolves in both games, scoring 17 points in an overtime loss to Corban and followed it up with a season-high 21 points at Bushnell.

THE BASICS: 
Final - OT:  Corban 70, Walla Walla 61

 GAME NOTES:

• The Wolves wasted no time, starting the game on a 7-4 run, and taking a 19-14 edge after the first quarter. Clara Campos Wiltgen Guimaraes led the Wolves, knocking down two 3-pointers.
• The offense sputtered in the second quarter, as the Warriors held the Wolves to eight points on 25-percent shooting, while retaking the lead into the half, 34-27.
• The Wolves eventually tied up the game after Wiltgen knocked down another 3-pointer, making it 38-38 with just under four minutes left in the third quarter. A Carolina Montes-Estrada layup gave the Wolves their first lead in the second half at 42-41. Both teams went scoreless the final minute and a half of the quarter, as the Wolves took the slim lead heading into the fourth quarter.
• The fourth quarter provided some entertaining basketball, as both teams went back-and-forth holding slim leads throughout the quarter. Jaliyah Casem went 2-for-2 to give the Wolves their largest lead in the quarter at 54-51 with 30 seconds remaining, but the Warriors answered and were able to convert a three-point play to tie it at 54-54. The Wolves had the final possession but came up short and the game went into overtime.
• Unfortunately for the Wolves, the Warriors raced out of the gates, scoring the first 13 points of overtime and the Wolves were unable to overcome this run.

 PLAYER HIGHLIGHTS:

• Holly Golenor scored a game-high 22 points for the Warriors.
• The trio of Jaliyah Casem (17 points), Carolina Montes-Estrada (16 points), and Isabella Robles (12 points) led the Wolves.

THE BASICS: 
Final:  Bushnell 71, Walla Walla 67

 GAME NOTES:

• The Beacons ended the first quarter on a 10-5 run to take a 21-16 lead, but the Wolves responded, cutting into the deficit during second quarter, eventually tying it at 31-31 at the half after back-to-back baskets from Casem and Montes-Estrada erased the lead in the last minute of the half.
• The Beacons pushed the lead out to 40-33, but the Wolves quickly responded with a 7-0 to tie it at 40-40 midway through the period. The teams continued to go back-and-forth the rest of the quarter before a late Beacons layup broke a 48-48 tie and the home team took a 50-48 lead into the final quarter.
• The Beacons pushed their lead out to 59-53 midway through the quarter and continued to be efficient down the stretch, eventually securing the game from the free-throw lane, despite the Wolves' valiant comeback effort. The Wolves scored 10 points in the last minute of the game, but the Beacons calmly shot 6-for-6 from the free-throw line to secure the victory.

 PLAYER HIGHLIGHTS:

• Aspen Slifka led the Beacons with a double-double, scoring a game-high 22 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
• Jaliyah Casem led the Wolves with 21 points, as four of five starters scored in double-figures.

Walla Walla finishes their season this weekend, welcoming in the Oregon Tech Owls and (RV) Southern Oregon Raiders. Friday's matchup against the Owls will start at noon, followed by a 7 p.m. tip-off the next night against the (RV) Raiders on Senior Night.
