Women’s Basketball: Wolves Hustle Hard but Fall to Southern Oregon

College Place, Wash. — The Wolves worked hard to keep up with Southern Oregon University tied in the first half with 30 points each. SOU gained a lead in the second half and won 70-46.

Points were spread across the board for WWU, with Paulina Quintana scoring 11 points and Jaliyah Casem scoring 10. Chariah Daniels helped lead the team with 11 points and 4 steals. The Wolves fought hard to keep the score close up to halftime, but they lost momentum after the break. 

Kami Walk led the Raiders with 15 points followed by Brianna Phiakhamngon with 14 points. Kalei Iwami contributed 10 points and 4 steals for the Raiders. Together, they helped break away from the Wolves scoring 30 points as a team in the fourth quarter.

WWU worked hard to tie the first half of the game but SOU left with the win. The Wolves get a chance at redemption tomorrow night against Oregon Tech at 7 pm on home court.
