Women’s Basketball: Wolves Put Up a Strong Fight Against the Owls

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash.– Only down by four at the half, the Wolves ran out of steam as the Owls gained a lead by the fourth quarter. Oregon Tech won 61-48, after a close three quarters.

The Wolves hustled hard with a strong defense but struggled to keep up offensively. However, Jaliyah Casem had a solid game with a total of 18 points. Chariah Daniels led the team in rebounds with 7 for the game followed by Paulina Quintana and Jaliyah Casem who both had 5 for the night.

Olivia Spraque was the leader of the owls with 21 points. Maddyson Tull scored 12 points and Gabbie Gascon added 10 more for the owls. Their shots fell throughout the night making the wolves work hard to compete.

WWU accumulated 26 points by the half against OIT's 30 points. As the second half picked up, the owls pulled ahead for the win. The Wolves are practicing hard to gain the lead in their next game at home against Northwest on Friday, January 20 at 12 pm.
