COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — The Walla Walla Wolves (3-12, 2-10) played the Northwest Eagles (5-12, 3-9) Friday afternoon on home court. The Wolves despite keeping it close in the first three quarters, lost their footing and fell to the Eagles, 69-59.
Coming out, the Wolves took control with Savanah Zamora scoring the first layup of the game. The Wolves continued to push past their opponents, ending the first quarter ahead by 2 (11-13). The Eagles came back to take the lead going into the half (33-32). At the end of the third the game was tied, 47-47, but after a few fouls from the Wolves, they lost their momentum and failed to secure the win.
Wolves Senior Paulina Quintana had a great afternoon, setting a new personal record with 26 points in a game. On the other end of the court, Chariah Daniels dominated with 12 defensive rebounds and two offense rebounds totaling 14 rebounds for the game. Jaliyah Casem had 12 points and 6 rebounds for the afternoon.
For the Eagles, Kyrin Baklund led her team with 18 points, 1 block, and 2 steals. Followed by Kylie Lunday who had 13 points and 9 rebounds for the afternoon.
The Wolves play back on home court tomorrow at 7pm against Evergreen State College Geoducks.
